Educational Complex Point of Future

The project was selected as the winner of the international competition for development of the educational complex architectural concept. The competition was organized with the aim of attracting the best architects of the world to solve problems of creating an educational environment, within the framework of which educational programs and concepts of the "Smart School" were developed. The winner was a consortium of the Russian bureau UNK project with the Danish company CEBRA.

The focus of the architectural concept is a flexible combination of own initiative of students, their intellectual curiosity, study and game with the school events, feeling of safety and care. The round shape expresses the idea of the integrating community, and its center becomes a key point and gets a particular status and focus.

The conceptual solution of the Smart School in Irkutsk is an abundant educational environment with smooth transition between inner and outer areas. The school life will go not only in the dedicated rooms but also in the open areas inside and around buildings.
